Our February meeting Tuesday February 4th, is to be held at our warmly welcomed new venue Gossips Bar, 733 9th Ave.

 

We will have our first drawing of the HPS Scholarship Award for 2020 with prizes to the value of $500, $750, & $1000,

Our annual HPS Scholarship Award applications will be available.

Meeting Education Feature

CUNY-Building Performance Lab offers two FREE training programs for residential building operators. The outlines are attached.

 

Building Operator Training: for NYC residential building operators: Owners, Supers, Handy-men and -women, and Porters.

Focus: on energy efficiency for residential buildings, the course addresses existing building systems and equipment and would help as building owners plot strategies for compliance with NYC’s energy performance laws.

Timing: The course is 30 hours, divided into ten 3-hour modules, typically scheduled for one session per week for ten weeks. You choose the 3-hour time block and day of the week. (Scheduling now for classes starting in January or February 2020.)

Location: Your location – conference room or community room in one of your buildings.

Gas Safety training: stand-alone 3-hour session, also designed as the ‘11th week’ to accompany the BOT course.

Focus: Gas Safety—1. Gas safety basics; 2. Compliance with NYC laws (of 2016); 3. Preparedness – working with first responders; minimizing impact to the building.

Timing: 3-hour course; you choose the time block and day of the week. (Scheduling now for classes in February or March 2020.)

Location: Your location – conference room or community room in one of your buildings.
